Our Disability Income plan lets you

  • choose from a variety of elimination periods: 30, 60 or 90 days.
  • choose the benefit period* you need: 6 months, 1, 2, 5 and 10 years, or to age 65.
  • receive protection that's guaranteed renewable at age 65. Your coverage cannot be canceled as long as premiums are paid.
  • be covered in your own occupation for a specified period of time.
  • receive benefits in addition to Social Security or Worker's Compensation. And, your covered 24 hours a day, on or off the job.
  • receive tax-free benefits. When the policy premiums are paid by you, the benefits you receive are income tax free.

* varied by occupational classification

You can choose an option that

  • returns premiums paid, less claims at age 65: Surrender Value Rider
  • guards against potential inflation: Cost of Living Rider
  • provides additional coverage as your income increases: Option to Purchase Rider

* Benefits will not be paid for: normal pregnancy or childbirth; war, declared or not; military service, except for training periods of less than 60 days. During the first 2 Policy years (12 months in Virginia and North Carolina) the Policy man not cover a disability if it is the result of an injury sustained or sickness which existed prior to the Date of Issue on the Policy. However, if you fully disclose such a condition in your application we will pay benefits unless a Rider excludes such condition by name.
